Personal Philosophy

I love surorunding myself with gold. Because... Kintsugi. I may have been led to look into this philosophy because like how a cracked vase can be fixed and made even more precious, I am learning to embrace my imperfections, that there's beauty in the breakage because it shows the value of the life Ive lived so far and the resilience I applied to not completely be unrepairable.

BIO

Anne is a multidisciplinary artist, poet, and self-reclaimed dreamer born in Manila. She creates from color, memory, and emotion — painting stories, writing feelings, and piecing herself back together through art.

She grew up close to nature’s rhythm, where she first learned to express her inner world through sketches and quiet poems. However, Life led her through unexpected paths — a move to the city, a Multimedia course, becoming a registered nurse — but somewhere along the way, her creative self grew quiet.

It wasn’t until recently, finding inspiration again, that she began to remember the parts of her she’d set aside. Realizing that it would have unfolded more beautifully had she not totally let go of the steering wheel and prevented her true self being swallowed whole by waves of heartbreak and struggles. That burst of inspiration that activated her, figuratively speaking, brought her back from the dead. That inspiration was a saving grace. Now she makes her own wheel from drawing tools and writing pens. Now, she creates with intention — painting, writing, designing — not just to express, but to heal and connect.

Her artistic technique is still developing and in the future will be applied and honed as she experiment with other media especially traditional ones but the style is there and emerging. Her style is proving to be reminiscent of her early practice of sketching portraits and landscapes when she was young. A very unforgettable experience was sitting in front of a full body mirror and sketching her own portrait as well as being commissioned during her High School days to do one of the famous Ely Buendia. Because there was a time when she owned it fully.

Her writing skills on the otherhand, was something she was born with… Participating and awarded at an English declamation contest when she was 6, she bagged a Best in English merit from Wesleyan Kindergarten School before she transferred for the next level. From then on, she picked up the hobby of reading novels, novelettes and short stories all through out her teen days, consuming 300 pages in less than 24 hours the exciting plots of Nancy Drew, the elating climaxes of VC Andrews and the delightfulness and less complex writing of teen novels.   She was fascinated with words that paint scenes vividly in her imagination. Reading was, for her, a multi-sensory experience and that made her believe that words have power.

Hence, she became a passionate creator of the very same artforms that she, likewise, passionately devoured.

Back to today, she is a digital painter and a self-published poet living in the Philippines. She was, in the recent five years, picking up on her creative flair and was able to publish her documented beginnings thru an artbook called “Unblocked” where she shared her first art pieces, her thoughts and the lessons she learned after being activated again, as well as a few of her poems that relates to the experience.

A year later, she finally published a compilation of 80 poems in a book she titled “Deep Beneath My Surface”.

Artist Statement

My work is rooted in introspection, emotion, and color as storytelling. I believe art is a form of self-return — a bridge back to our truest selves. Whether I’m creating monochromatic dioramas in my Chromatherapy Art series or loosely painting dreams and synchronicities, publishing poetry compilation, or crafting stories, each piece holds fragments of my own memory, feeling, and transformation.

I create for the seekers, the soft ones, the shapeshifters — anyone who’s ever lost and found themselves again; anybody who’s now shifting from being soft and highly tolerant to their detriment to becoming a balanced, healed and empowered Empress.

But… To be honest… my true specialty is still daydreaming, sitting in solitude, and feeling. And definitely… my resilience.
